Part Time Could Be A Big Problem, If You Do It Wrong

If you are a new blogger, then chances are you are a part time blogger.   Perhaps one day you would like to quit your job and become a blogger full time… but right now you probably blog in addition to work.

So how can you mix your work with your blog?   Well the short answer is you probably shouldn’t be mixing your work with your blog.  More or less at all.  It really is a bad idea to mix the two.  More than one person has learned this to their misfortune, as they have been reprimanded or even fired after spending to much time at their work working on their business.

But I just check stats, surely that is alright?  Well of course every employer is different.  And you will have to decide how strict your employer is.  But one good way to ensure you don’t get in any trouble is to not do any work on your Blog what so ever.   The biggest problem with doing something on your blog while you are work is that it a very slippery slop.  If you check your stats online it can be very tempting to check how much your advertising made for you.   If you check your money stats, it can be very tempting to tweak one of your ads.  At least it is tempting for me. All of a sudden you start slipping down that slope.
