Meshing Your Blog With Work - Part 2
Blogging At Work… How To Do It
As I discussed in Part1of this series it is a bad idea to go online and work on your blog while you are work. It is even at a bad idea to go online to check your stats. So what can you do?
Say You Have Lots Of Good Ideas At Work? What To Do? It isn’t surprising that you have lots of good ideas for your blog while you are work. I personally get most of the ideas for my blog while I’m working. In fact Problogger has a new post about increasing your creativity. Mixing Up your environment is #3 on the list. So as soon as you get away from your blog, you get ideas. But you might forget them before you can work on them! Are you out of luck?
The answer is of course no. Although it is a bad idea to work on your blog at work, if all you are doing is brainstorming… then go for it. You can’t control when your good ideas are going to hit. You just need to make sure that you remember your good ideas so you can use them later.
Personally I keep a trusty little notebook with me at all times. When I get an idea, I jot it down. When it is time to blog I have a handy list of ideas ready to go. It saves me from what every blogger has experienced at one time or another, the thought “What should I blog today?”
If you aren’t the notebook type, but would like to keep your ideas in a more dynamic envirnoment here are some suggestions.
1) E-mail them to yourself - Easy to do, then you can simply check your e-mail when you get home to read your ideas. Very simple.
2) Use Writely- Google writely is a great tool for keeping your ideas. You can access it from anywhere. Simply log on, input your ideas, and you can read them when you get home. In fact, you can even combine writely with E-mail and e-mail your ideas to your writely account, they will be waiting in a document when you get home.
