Dan over at Personal Branding Blog has a good post about the fact that even online, in fact, especially online, appearance matters

Many people who read your site will make up their mind about it in the first 15 seconds.   In that 15 seconds, do they have enough time to read your content and decide whether or not your site is worthwhile?  No. Most people judge a site by its appearance.

Although having a good looking blog isn’t going to make you any money all by itself, after all you still need to content to bring the visitors in; Good site design is essential to long term success.   That is a fact that I have been learning myself.

So while you are blogging don’t forget to give the appearance of your site some thought.  Maybe you can tweak your theme to make your colors better, or arrange the placement of your menu in a more pleasing way.  Maybe you should download a common theme as a starting post and customize it until it is your own.  Either way, just remember that looks are important
