Make More Money, Make Your Readers Click Your Ads

1) Ads Without Borders - You’ve heard of doctors without borders.  If it works for them, why shouldn’t it work for ads? … But in all seriousness, borders around you ads will kill your click through rate.  Avoid borders whenever possible

2) Ad Blending - Make sure that your ads blend in well with the rest of your site.  The background should match, the text style should match, and the text color should match

3) Blue Links - Blue is historically the color for links.  By making sure that your links are blue all of your users will know that they are links.  Users who know that they are links are more likely to click on them

4) Wrapped Text - Wrapping your text around your ads can ensure that you users will see them.  By wrapping your text around your ads you are ensuring that your click through rate is maximized.

5) Appropriate Ads - If you have ads on your site which don’t match your content, be sure to block those ads and those categories.  If you are writing about cars, and your ads appear about cameras, you won’t get too many clicks.

6) Reduce Your Links - Reduce the number of other outgoing links that you have on your page.  Don’t have a site with hundreds of links on it for no particular reason.  The more users that click on those links, the less will click on your ads.
