Problogger has a great recent post on the true profit potential behind blogging, and that is Personal Branding.  Personal branding allows bloggers to make money from more than just direct advertising on their site.  There are 4 other areas of potential revenue that many bloggers ignore.

I focus almost exclusively on the last area.  My revenue stream is almost entirely devoted to advertising.   Perhaps once I have built up more of a brand I can move in on the others?
