Top Commentator List
I recently added the Top Commentator Plugin to my Blog. It is an exciting plugin. I think that it will help encourage comments on my site, and reward the top commentators with links that count in Google. I know that the Top Commentator plugin on other people’s blogs has encouraged me to leave more comments to try and get on the list. However sometimes it can be difficult to find blogs using the plugin. As such I have started to compile a list of all blogs using the Top Commentator plugin, or a clone.
Rules
1) Blog must have top commentators on the Sidebar, at the bottom, top, or anywhere else that is on the majority of pages. If you just have top commentators on a single page in your blog you don’t qualify for this list
2) Links in the plugin can not contain the rel=”nofollow” tag, they must be search enabled
3) Submit your blog by leaving a comment or sending me an e-mail and I’ll add it to the list
4) New additions go on top for easy reference, after a while they will be put alphabetically
5) If you find a site on here which is not using the plugin, or has turned on rel=”nofollow”, let me know and I’ll remove it from the list
6) If you like this, you may also want to check out Forums That Follow List

Please add me to the list. And how can you tell if the plugin has the “no follow” feature enabled? I just installed mine and searched around but I didn’t see it. Does it come “do follow” by default?

It comes Do follow by default
If you wanted to set it to nofollow you would need to modify the line
if(trim($url) != ” && $ns_options[”make_links”] == 1) {
echo ““;
into something like
if(trim($url) != ” && $ns_options[”make_links”] == 1) {
echo ““;
But I haven’t tried it so I’m not positive that that is the exact list.

You are right Scott, I added the top commentators plug-in to a few of my blogs and then I managed to get myself on a few lists like the one you’ve compiled. Not only did my comments go up but so did my traffic, the sites listing me became one of my top referrers.

The thing about the Top Commentator list is keeping track of noteworthy comments and those that add to the discussion. By that, I mean not letting too many generic comments slip in.

Commenting on dofollow blogs in a proper way can give you the benefit as blog owners always want to have some meaningful towards the blog and the visitors. Top commentator blogs are also useful in this way and these are some very handy blogs.

The new CommentLuv Premium is a great way to encourage commentator participation. It gives you additional backlinks apart from the TC.

There are a lot of new commenting platforms like Disqus or more recently, Livefyre, which cuts down on spam somewhat by having you possess an account before commenting.

Unfortunately many of these no longer have top commentator as a feature. Usually the result of a theme update.

Konya, just grab the plugin from wordpress dot org and follow their instructions for installing it. It is really simple and easy to do.
